lyrics

This, is the inconvenient booth
It started as a literal statement
But now it’s a more of a struggle
The push and pull between making music
And the 9 to 5’s that provide the income for making that music possible
The grave yard shifts that serve as inspiration to become something the more
The contrast between hatred for self, and hatred for those that don’t believe in you
Those who pretend to support you when it serves them best
But then ignore your every action, victory, and breath
Everyone is now going to have to bite their tongue
And give us the respect we deserve

Life is full of ego trip and ego checks
Cause we need tips to pay for these ol’ checks
And only those close to me are blind enough
To think that I am not a fucking mess
I’ve been running out breath
But I got, miles of chest
And balls like planets that knock ya’lls off they axis
I suggest…you step the fuck back
Before I break yo neck, finger fuckin’ ears
Till your deaf…see me in the dark
With the eye of needle, pumped up on diesel
Got Riddick in the fetal…position…I’ve twisted
More writtens into weapons, then coppers made pennies
Better watch your back, my mic knows no friendlies
I’m violent sober, I don’t need any Hennessey’s
A homicidal wordsmith with, awkward tendencies
No take-backs and, no pretendsies
I’m overzealous….with like ten z’s….

(1/2 bar space)
I poured my fucking heart out, in a room full of writers
Only to be neglected cause my skin’s shades whiter
Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve tasted disappointment
And I’ve fasted on hardship, but I’ve never been to a sit in
And it’s never come to marches…I beg your pardons
No I’m not comparing, I’m making it apparent
Never have I enjoyed the bitter flavor of my privilege
But what I hate more than being given what I don’t deserve
..Is being stripped, blatantly, of something that I do
……….As if the only young Chicago
Authors that need a hand didn’t look like me and you
That was my last week, and yeah I understand
if you don’t remember
(1/2 bar space)
hell, the neglect, I bet it meant more than your support could have
And I probably show you more support than you should have
(1/2 bar space)
So that’s the last song I show you a song in confidence
But if you feel the need to apologize honest
It’s Okay I promise, I won’t give a fuck what
You say…
But I bet you gon’ respect this tape anyway

Excited, ecstatic, happiness in manic
(x2)

I’m so fucking great, you probably can’t stand it
But this is just a statement to establish it
The rest of the tape is the proof that it’s true
This is just me, saying fuck you
And welcome, to my Inconvenient Booth
